Dear Prospective Sponsor,

The Penn State’s Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE) Chapter has been known for cultivating and growing its members to become leaders in academics, research, and industry. We are contacting you because we want your company to become part of our SHPE family as a sponsor. The purpose of this document is to request funding on behalf of our chapter. SHPE is the source for quality Hispanic engineers and technical talent. Our mission is to promote the development of Hispanics in engineering, science, and other technical professions to achieve technical excellence, economic opportunity, and social equality. The vision of our society is that SHPE becomes the leading social-technical organization.  In the 2016-2017, 2019-2020, and 2021-2022 academic years, our chapter won the Blue Chip Award for Excellence within our region, and in the 2015-2016 academic year, our chapter was named Outstanding Medium Chapter of the Year at the National Level, and in 2025 we won the Academic Olympiad Competition in the SHPE National Convention.The success of our chapter comes with the success of our members. Penn State’s SHPE chapter is composed of young entrepreneurs, professionals, and researchers with high hopes and aspirations in the science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) related careers. The large range and variety of events that our chapter holds helps students develop their personal and professional skills.

Through the many events held in the Fall and Spring semesters such as the SHPE Transition Engineering Program, Hispanic Heritage Month Festival, and Noches de Ciencias, SHPE is able to fulfill students’ goals to not only get involved in the community, but also in the development of their own professional character. Each one of our events falls into one or more of these categories: Professional Development, Chapter Development, Leadership Development, Academic Development, Community Outreach, and Festivals. Throughout the corporate packet, each one of our events falls into one of these categories and many of them overlap. Sponsoring these events helps members to build many long-lasting connections and to network with successful professionals.

As our chapter enters a new academic year, we are beginning our search for companies who can sponsor us during the fall and spring semesters.  In return, we can provide you with talented students who can complement the needs of your company, as well, as publicizing the company’s logo on our website and during the respective programs they choose to support.  Our chapter would like to thank you in advance for your generous support and participation. Without your generosity and help we would not be able to provide these opportunities for our members and reach our goal of winning an outstanding medium chapter award for the 2025-2026 school year. It would be a privilege to work with you and help us continue supporting the success of Hispanic Engineers at Penn State.
